swamp collection

Reflecting on cycles of recovery in our production practices, our homes, and our environment.

Inspired by the historic ecology of the LA basin, our approach to this collection was to digest the function of swamp ecology into our own practice. With the filtration of wetlands in mind, we partnered with local manufacturers to intercept remnants and deadstock from their production processes.

Designing responsively to the materials available in these post-industrial “waste streams,” we created: a weighted body cushion, a spatial divider, a sheer curtain, and a throw pillow.

______

lightweave
spatial divider

Taking cues from the species that thrive in mercurial environments, our lightweave spatial divider considers porosity and saturation in both form and function. Neon orange tie backs with side release buckles create the moments of reveal.

saltgrass
weighted body cushion

Named after the resilient riparian plant, saltgrass, known for its ability to thrive in saturated soils. Mimicking its sponge-like tissue, this object is composed of a set of latex-core “blades” that you can intertwine yourself among. A pillow version of a weighted blanket, if offers a grounding and playful presence for moments of sensory saturation.

saltgrass twist
throw pillow

A smaller and twisted version of our saltgrass body cushion. The twist is pillow sized, perfect to layer onto beds and sofas.

saturate
sheer curtain

Featuring an edge-to-edge image of an intertidal lagoon in Southern California. This sheer metallic curtain adds a watery glaze to any interior space. Both metallic pink and metallic moss colorways vary dramatically in response to light.
