Artist-Led Design Workshops
Annie and SJ facilitate artist-led workshops that extend groupsports’ practice in material research, tactile furniture, and sensory design. Through hands-on making, workshops explore materials, processes, and the relationship between objects, spaces, and everyday experience.
We work with companies, design studios, museums, universities, schools, hotels, and cultural organizations. Custom workshops are available in person and virtually as single sessions or multi-session programs.
Based in Los Angeles, we develop and facilitate workshops with organizations across different locations and contexts.
All materials are provided. Workshops can be adapted for different audiences, group sizes, and settings.
Workshops
Cyanotype Printing on Fabric
An introduction to cyanotype printing on fabric through textile-based image making. Participants explore exposure, composition, and material transformation while creating original fabric works.
Workshops can be developed around themes such as native plants, found objects, personal artifacts, or site-specific materials.
Wind Chime Making Workshop
A hands-on exploration of sound, movement, and material through the creation of wind-activated objects. Participants work with natural and found materials to create objects that respond to wind, weather, and outdoor environments.
Custom Workshops
We develop custom artist-led design workshops around materials, processes, and ideas from our studio practice. Workshops often incorporate natural, found, reclaimed, or site-specific materials.
Areas of exploration include:
Textile construction
Natural dyeing and color techniques
Cyanotype and alternative printmaking
Circular material practices
Hand building, object casting, and mold making
Soft furniture, textiles and textile objects
Prototyping and model making
Sun, wind, water, and earth-based objects
Experimental fabrication
